Then, one day, there wasn't a next time as the news came through that the railway was to close. As a 9 year old boy, I felt as if something permanent had gone from my life. The trips to Mumbles continued - there was still the lighthouse, the pier, and the lifeboat station, but it wasn't the same by bus!

We all know that change is an integral part of our lives, but it is not unusual to longingly think of the past and wish that we could once again have the old values. But nothing remains the same.

Or does it?
